I’m always in search of things that are working. So, it’s important for me to define my criteria for what is working and what is not working.
The system I use is simple. I can look at an economic indicator, a stock, an ETF, a commodity, interest rates, currencies, etc… and quickly say YES, NO or UNSURE.
Do I care if it’s an individual stock or a foreign country ETF or a commodity ETF or a currency ETF or a bond fund? Nope. It needs to be working and have enough daily trading volume. I have other criteria that helps in the selection process but I don’t have to have these.
The toughest thing about any kind of system is the discipline to trust it and to do what it’s telling me to do.
This video is about finding what is working in a market that seems to want to go lower. We’ll take a visit to https://www.sectorspdr.com/sectorspdr/ and check out the S&P500 Sectors to see what is working there. We’ll take a look at my foreign country ETF list to see what is working there. Then we’ll blast through my Red List of tagged markets that are working.
An important note… many of the main market indexes have seen some declines recently but these declines have been somewhat orderly. If these declining markets do cut loose to the downside, there could be some fast destructive moves.
Feel free to teach this to your friends and family. Thanks for the referrals.
