Read/Watch Time: 26 minutes and worth it
Thanks for checking in. Welcome to my Markets Update that I do every morning. I also refer to it throughout the day. Knowing the big trends helps me to target some possible gains in sectors, countries, commodities, etc…I like to watch the markets that have a large impact on my investment decisions.
I include the crypto biggies like Bitcoin and Ethereum in order to get a general direction of the digital space for the day.
I like to watch the trends on big U.S. equity markets like the NASDAQ, S&P500, and the Russell 2000.
It’s helpful for me to know the direction of interest rates, bonds. and commodities like oil and gold.
Plus, I like to review the volatility measures of the S&P500 (the VIX) and the NAS100 (the VXN). This helps me to see how much fear is in the market and the direction of the short term trend.
I included a review of some country ETFs and the primary sector ETFs of the S&P500. Doing this on a regular basis has helped me stay in tune with the markets. I don’t always get it right but it does help me to find the places to own and the places to sell.
